Following the Women’s Day program on Saturday, 9 August, we took a short break and went right into everyone’s favorite contest and the determiner of a month’s worth of bragging rights; the game of skate contest. Over 30 Kimberley skaters made it out to try their luck for a shot at some rad prizes and hopefully a fun time on their skateboards for this single-elimination bracket style tournament.
We saw some good skating from Enrique Ortell, Jaydan Klaasen, DBH, Darren Joseph, and more, but in the end, it was Alec Balie who took the top spot and a new Element deck! Congrats to our top 3 finalists (listed below) and thanks to all the locals for coming out and supporting local skateboarding!
