This weekend at the Kumba Skate Plaza we held the February Mini Hood to Hood Jam. This month we decided to spice it up by allowing four dudes per team and a spot in the Midway Mayhem Hood to Hood for the top two teams, on top of our usual offering of cash for the top three teams. All of the locals came out in hopes of cash and one of two slots in the Midway Mayhem Hood to Hood, but in the end it was “Jou Ma Se Team” (Your Mother’s Team) that came through in first with “Will’s Ducks” trailing it second. Check below for results and photos from the contest along with photos from Skate Lesson Sundays, Longest Manual, and Friday Night Lights presented by Panarotti’s Kimberley.

We kicked off Friday with a pizza party presented Panarotti’s Kimberley. Delicious pies, music, and skating under the lights isn’t a bad combo.
Another great day at Skate Lesson Sundays.

Not too sure where this kid got his face painted, but wherever he was at, he must have had an awesome time. Top it off with some skate lessons and you’ve got a recipe for a killer Sunday.
Dropping in.
There was plenty of room for the ladies. Sam K helps with some balance basics.

More high fives from Siphiwe.

Congrats to Jou Ma Se Team and Will’s Ducks. These dudes will be skating in the Midway Mayhem Hood to Hood.
The Mini Hood to Hood top 3 teams.
Kogisho came out of nowhere with what I believe to be one of the gnarliest tricks down the big 4. Nyjah’s bs 270 flip to lip ain’t got nothin’ on this corkscrew backflip.
Will Meleng was on fire and held it down for his ducks. 5050.
Fakie cab.

Moustache ollies over the rail.
A scenic boardslide for Jino Modise.

Erwin fulfilling his internship duties. We had this cleaned up in about an hour, believe it or not. Lots of teamwork got the job done.
A heavy rain came shortly after the contest started so we decided to check out Transworld’s “In Bloom”. The kids were tripping on P. Rod, Mikey Taylor, and Chris Cole’s OG footage and were introduced to the likes of Evan Hernandez, TNT, and Alex Gall. One of TWS’ best.
